Ceiling height is discovered late
Rope climbs, overhead pressing, rigs with pull-up stations and box jumps all need real height, and a tenancy with a low structural soffit or heavy services below it cannot accommodate them. That is a measurement anybody can take before signing, and it is routinely taken afterwards.
What the zone needs
- Clear height to the underside of services, not to the deck.
- Rig anchoring, which imposes loads on structure or slab.
- Turf installed over a surface that suits sled work.
- Impact-resistant walls where things get thrown.
- Ventilation, because this zone works hardest.
How we handle it

- 05Locate the zone where its noise is least disruptive.
Measure to the underside of the ducts, not to the structure. Clear height is what the equipment actually has, and services running below a soffit routinely take a foot or more out of a space that looked adequate on a drawing.
