FAQ
Gym and fitness facility construction in Florida
- Why do gyms get evicted?
- Dropped weight impact reaching the tenancy below.
- Does rubber flooring solve it?
- It handles sound in the room, not structure-borne impact.
- What actually works?
- Heavy zones on grade, or platforms isolated from the structure.
- Is ground floor always on grade?
- No. Check what is below.
- Is the design load figure enough?
- It is static. Impact needs an engineer.
- Is base building mechanical adequate?
- Rarely. A gym imposes several times the load.
- Should cooling be sized for peak?
- Yes. Peak is when members judge it.
- What stops studio music escaping?
- Mass and isolation, not absorptive panels.
- How do we measure ceiling height?
- To the underside of services.
- Do you flood test showers?
- Before tiling, every time.
- Are steam rooms specialist?
- Yes. Improvised ones fail.
- Does a standard allowance cover a gym?
- Rarely.
- Is anchoring always permitted?
- Not always. Check the lease.
- Can any building do 24-hour?
- No. Some shut down entirely.
- Will you walk a space pre-lease?
- Yes.
